Deviled eggs are a delicious and elegant appetizer that is perfect for any gathering. Here’s a classic recipe to make deviled eggs:
Classic Deviled Eggs Recipe
Ingredients:
6 large eggs
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)
1 teaspoon white vinegar (or lemon juice)
Salt and pepper to taste
Paprika for garnish
Optional toppings: chopped chives, dill, bacon bits, pickles, etc.
Instructions:
Boil Eggs: Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pan, remove from heat, and let sit for 10-12 minutes.
Cool and Peel Eggs: Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs under running water.
Halve Eggs and Remove Yolks: Cut the eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks. Place the yolks in a mixing bowl.
Prepare Filling: Mash the yolks with a fork. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
Fill Egg Whites: Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill the egg white halves with the yolk mixture.
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle paprika over the top for a classic touch. Add any optional toppings if desired.
